I have always admired the work of the great American artist Frederic Remington, and the hoof-pounding drama of his "Downing the Nigh Leader" (1907) made me want to try my own take on the story of a stagecoach being ambushed and the lead horse dragged down.
Maybe this time the Indian attack on the Concord coach will be fought off and the overland mail will make it through the dusty canyon lands and sagebrush!
