Puffin Patrol is an original drawing by Elaine Jones on heavyweight watercolour paper, using coloured pencils.

Atlantic puffins (Fratercula arctica) are seabirds that feed by diving into the water to catch small fish such as sandeel and herring.  They nest in crevices among rocks or in burrows in the soil on coastal cliffs or offshore island, forming large breeding colonies.

In flight their short wings beat up to 400 times a minute, while underwater they are adapted for swimming with a flying technique.
